We're seeking a passionate Lower School Learning Specialist to join our Academic Resource Center beginning August 2026. Make a profound difference in the lives of young learners in grades K-5 who learn differently. You'll help students discover their strengths, build confidence, and develop the skills and strategies they need to thrive. As a vital partner to our Lower School faculty, you'll provide consultation, professional development, and collaborative problem-solving to ensure every student receives the support they need.

Reports To: Academic Resource Center (ARC) Director
What You'll Do
Champion Student Success
Work one-on-one and in small groups with students experiencing academic challenges, whether they have diagnosed learning differences or are navigating temporary struggles
Use assessment data to design and implement targeted interventions in reading, writing, math, social-emotional learning, and executive functioning
Create individualized learning tools - curriculum adaptations, visual aids, digital resources, games - that unlock understanding and engagement
Collaborate & Elevate
Partner with classroom teachers to develop meaningful accommodations and instructional strategies that serve all learners
Provide ongoing professional development to faculty, building our collective expertise in supporting students with diverse learning needs
Interpret psycho-educational evaluations and translate recommendations into actionable classroom strategies for teachers and families
Build Bridges with Families
Attend and facilitate conferences with parents and teachers, creating a team approach to student success
Communicate clearly and compassionately about student progress, challenges, and celebrations
Contribute to Our Learning Community
Participate actively as a member of your Grade Level Team, bringing your unique perspective and expertise
Attend ARC, division, and whole-school meetings, contributing to our culture of collaboration
Engage in school events including open houses, observations, and community gatherings (some evenings/weekends)
Who You Are
Your Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field required; Master's in Special Education/Learning Disabilities or Reading/Literacy strongly preferred
Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Learning Specialist, preferably with elementary-aged students (grades K-5)
Expertise: Proven success implementing diverse learning strategies and interventions; skilled in data-driven decision-making and progress monitoring
