Description:
Swift School is an independent school of approximately 150 students serving grades 1-8. Swift’s mission is to prepare students with dyslexia and related language-based learning differences to be successful in life. We recognize that each child is unique, and our teaching approach, time frame, and expected outcomes reflect the student’s individuality. Given that students have diverse needs, our teachers and administrators often collaborate with external support professionals to ensure the best overall academic plan for each student. The Security Officer is responsible for the safety of the school campus.
Qualifications:
● Minimum 5 years’ experience
● Must be registered with the State of Georgia
● Must be POST certified, or have certification in accordance with the Georgia Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies, or have a background in law enforcement and/or military with annual training and recertification.
● Must have good listening and communication skills
● Able to make quick decisions in stressful situations
● First aid, CPR, and AED certifications
● Basic computer skills
● College degree (preferred)
Responsibilities Include:
● Perform regular patrols of the school grounds to look for any suspicious persons, unusual activities, and signs of any security breaches
● Monitor all security cameras on the campus
● Investigates security breaches, incidents, and other alarming behavior
● Serve as a primary participant in emergency response during crisis situations, including but not limited to fire, tornado, and active shooter incidents
● Attend, maintain presence at, and participate in carpool (arrival and dismissal)
● Enforce campus rules and regulations
● Participate in professional development to ensure ongoing growth
