Job Description

Cumberland Academy of Georgia specializes in the needs of children with high functioning Autism, Asperger’s, ADD, ADHD and other learning differences. Located in Sandy Springs, the mission of the academy is to provide a safe, supportive, educational environment in partnership with faculty, staff, students and parents. The Cumberland family embraces the uniqueness of every child by challenging and inspiring them to reach their full potential.

The Director of Advancement will work with the leadership team to develop and implement the Strategic Advancement Plan. This plan encompasses the annual fund, special events, writing grants, the capital campaign, scholarships, planned giving and major donor solicitations.

Responsibilities:
Develop and promote Annual Fund and other fundraising incentives
Manage donor database
Research and submit grants suited for school needs and population
Develop donor communication
Prepare personalized solicitation and thank you letters
Spearhead annual gala and other events to ensure success by working closely with parents and volunteers through the entire process
Build/increase Georgia GOAL Scholarship Fund with an organized plan for solicitations to businesses and stakeholders
Work with marketing team to promote advancement efforts
Work with Board of Directors on special projects that support mission, goals and strategic plan

Required Qualifications:
3-5 years non-profit development experience
Grant research and writing experience
Database development experience preferred
