Position Overview
The World Languages Teacher is responsible for creating and implementing lessons in line with the designed World Languages curriculum and working in collaboration with other World Languages team members. In addition, the World Languages Teacher fulfills all of their responsibilities in accordance to the mission and philosophy of the School.

Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or Spanish (Master’s degree preferred)
• Georgia State Teaching Certificate/License (or equivalent from another state)

Essential Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities:
• Communicates fluently (oral and written) in the target language(s)
• Knows the curriculum (subject specific, if applicable) of grade level being taught and of those surrounding it
• Effectively uses best practices in teaching and learning to design and deliver instruction
• Presents well-planned lessons
• Maintains accurate and comprehensive records of each child’s performance and progress, including the My Learning digital portfolio
• Models appropriate behavior for students
• Understands and supports developmental benchmarks academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally
• Uses technology instructionally with an understanding of Apple products, interactive whiteboards, Google docs, and Microsoft products; understands responsible digital citizenship
• Communicates proficiently in oral and written forms to all constituents
• Maintains an organized, pleasant, and inviting learning environment
• Collaborates with team members for effective planning, communication, and implementation
• Collaborates with colleagues and staff to support the school community
• Initiates and actively participates in professional development opportunities
• Participates in associated duties such as carpool, lunch, and recess
• Takes initiative to fulfill typical responsibilities and demonstrates willingness to problem solve atypical situations
• Other duties as assigned
