St. Martin’s Episcopal School has an opening for a Human Resources Manager. We seek candidates who are culturally competent and responsive, and who support our mission. The Human Resources Manager oversees and executes all major HR functions in the school: compliance, reporting, payroll, benefits administration, recruiting and hiring, employee relations, employee training, performance management, comp and benefits/budgeting, wellness programs, and strategic HR planning. The Human Resources Manager also provides leadership in the development and proper implementation of HR practices, policies, procedures, and programs for the school, collaborates with leadership to effectively communicate and implement change where necessary, and must deliver excellent customer service, coaching, and support to managers and employees. This position is part of the finance team, supervises one HR Assistant, and serves 140 full-time and 50 part-time/seasonal employees.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business or other HR-related area.
HRCI or SHRM certification required.

Experience
3-5 years of experience supporting an HR office, preferably in a school setting, or non-profit organization. Experience with payroll processing required.

Physical Requirements
This job is performed mostly inside and sometimes outside; the noise level can be quiet to loud. Position requires sitting at a desk, walking, standing, crouching, stooping, talking, seeing, and hearing as needed to perform essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to type, finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. This position requires the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

Additional Responsibilities
Ability to serve in a 12-month role, approximately 45 hours/week, including business hours of 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday-Friday. All work is performed on campus. Nights and weekends sometimes required.
