Upper School Art Teacher
Notre Dame Academy is a Marist Catholic and International Baccalaureate World School serving students in grade kindergarten through high school and located in Duluth, Georgia.
The role of the Upper School Art Teacher is to teach Art. Incorporates curriculum standards into well-planned and successfully executed unit lessons. Reports to the Upper School Principal. This is a full-time 10 month position, beginning August 1, 2020 for the 2020-2021 school year.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Planning- Incorporates curriculum standards into well-planned and successfully executed unit lessons, including measurable outcomes, a variety of instructional materials, planned activities and authentic assessments
• Teaching- Uses a range of instructional techniques, new technologies and media consistent with available resources, student needs and interests. Teaches students to apply elements of design and modern principles of art. Furthers the student’s knowledge of visual arts through art history and theory
• Student Evaluation- Provides fair, reliable and understandable grade structure, utilizes a variety of assessment techniques
• Records- Maintains accurate records of student achievement
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
• Bachelor’s Degree, preference given to Master’s Degree
• Previous teaching experience at the high school level
• Experience teaching Upper School and Middle School Art
• Experience in teaching IB
