Description:

The Assistant Admissions Director supports the admissions process for a special education school by assisting families, coordinating evaluations and tours, maintaining documentation, and ensuring timely, compassionate, and professional communication with all prospective families. The role requires sensitivity to the unique needs of students with disabilities, including ASD, ADHD, and learning disabilities, and a commitment to creating a welcoming admissions experience. Key Responsibilities:
Respond to inquiries from prospective families with empathy and accuracy, providing information about programs, services, and the admissions process.

Schedule and coordinate intake meetings, school tours, and student visits.

Maintain accurate and confidential student records and admissions data.

Support the application process, including tracking submissions, following up on missing documentation, and preparing student files for review.

Assist in reviewing applications and supporting documents to ensure they align with program criteria.

Communicate with school staff, specialists, and external agencies as needed regarding applicants.

Provide logistical support during outreach events.

Support transition planning and enrollment for newly admitted students.

Maintain a compassionate and respectful approach in all interactions with families and students.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (preferred).

Experience working in a school setting and/ or experience with students with special needs.

Familiarity with IEPs, 504 Plans, and special education terminology (preferred).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on empathy and discretion.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace; experience with student information systems is a plus.

Work Environment:
School-based environment with regular interaction with students, families, and staff.
May include occasional evening or weekend events.
