Are you a strategic, mission-driven finance leader looking to make a lasting impact in education? Mill Springs Academy, a college and career readiness school serving non-traditional learners, is seeking a Director of Finance to join our senior leadership team.

πŸ’Ό About the Role

As Director of Finance, you will play a critical leadership role by providing financial strategy, operational oversight, and visionary support to the Head of School and Board of Trustees. This is a highly visible role that manages budgeting, accounting, investments, compliance, risk management, and more.

🌟 Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic financial counsel to the Head of School and Board of Trustees.

Lead all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, reporting, cash flow, and investments.

Supervise business office staff and manage vendor, banking, and audit relationships.

Guide risk management, legal compliance, and insurance strategies.

Partner with Human Resources on compensation and benefits planning.

Collaborate with admissions on tuition assistance planning.

Play an active role in strategic and campus master planning, facilities oversight, and new construction projects.

Submit surveys and financial data to organizations like NAIS, SAIS, and NBOA.

πŸŽ“ Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in finance, accounting, or business strongly preferred. CPA a plus.

Experience: 10+ years in financial leadership roles, preferably in nonprofit or independent school settings.
