Description:

The Donor Relations Manager is responsible for assisting in the implementation of a comprehensive stewardship program focused on communications, recognition, naming opportunities, endowment reporting and compliance, and custom major donor stewardship. This is a 12 month position. The workload of the position is restricted to that assigned by the Director of Donor Relations and the Chief Advancement Officer.

Position Responsibilities:

In partnership with the Director, responsible for establishment and implementation of a donor relations and stewardship policy, which includes a recognition strategy for naming opportunities, donor recognition, and stewardship of gifts at all levels.
Oversee fund expenditures from endowment earnings to ensure donor intent is being met by tracking endowment spend campus-wide and obtaining fund usage to ensure proper stewardship and reporting to Lovett donors.
Lead execution of annual financial and impact reporting of endowments.
Ensure named endowment procedures are followed according to Donor Relations’ policy.
In partnership with the Director, assist in managing new stewardship opportunities to showcase impact and demonstrate return on investment for donors.
Oversee development of all donor recognition signage and awards, including design, production, and installation by outside vendors.
Follow best practices and maintenance in Raiser's Edge NXT, in accordance with Advancement Services, to record stewardship actions and communications, in addition to endowed gift agreements, endowment reports, etc.
Manage weekly gift reports for outreach purposes.
Lead or assist with stewardship events as needed. Plan, coordinate, and execute individual and small-group donor lunches, developing agendas, managing RSVPs, and ensuring a polished and welcoming experience.
Support the Advancement Events Manager as needed in the planning and execution of advancement events.
Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and at least five years of progressive experience in donor relations, donor stewardship, and event planning.
Proven strong attention to detail and follow through required.
Superior client service skills, internally and externally.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, Raiser’s Edge and Google Suite preferred.
Strong organizational skills.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects with varying deadlines at the same time.
Ability to work quickly and accurately.  
Ability to keep confidential information private and handle such information discreetly.
Ability to work as a team member and display positive behaviors.
Resourcefulness; ability to think ahead.
Willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
Strongly prefer a candidate with experience working at an independent school.
At various times throughout the year, the employee is required to work outside of regular business hours for various job-related functions. The employee will receive as much advance notification as possible for these events and is required to attend them as part of their essential duties.
