High Meadows School in Roswell, Georgia, approximately 30 minutes north of Atlanta, is accepting applications for an experienced Ethical Leadership Coordinator (16-20 hours/week). Summary

General Description
• Works with Director of Equity & Justice to establish and execute goals, strategies, and action plans as related to equity and justice at HMS
• Writes content for Culture Corner which appears weekly in The Week Ahead/ MY Friday email (content should be brief and relative diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice)
• Coordinates monthly participation in Community Gathering from a DEIJ perspective
• Leads and executes activities that promote opportunities for students to demonstrate engagement as Ethical Leaders within and beyond the immediate HMS community.
Such activities include, and are not limited to:
- Inspirational Messages of Peace Contest,
- Annual Peace Vigil,
- Walk Around the World: A Nationality Festival
- Leads or facilitates others to lead Chats for Change classes including content wrap ups to families
• Creates and supports mini courses and service-learning opportunities
• Coordinates the Youth Service Fair or other similar efforts
• Co-facilitates EJC
• Participates and coordinates EJC events and trips as schedule allows
• Engage in ongoing professional development within the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) realm to enhance personal growth and expertise, bringing best practices and solutions to the school to support an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
• Attends and represents the school at other events such as Open House, Family Farm to Forest, Hiring Fairs, etc.

Knowledge and Skill Set Requirements
Must be motivated, nurturing, creative, self-directed and a collaborative team member. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as a passion and energy for teaching children. Desire to play a meaningful role in each student’s daily school life and the life of the school. Ability to clearly communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a teaching partnership. Ability to nurture and challenge each student. Model continuous learning, and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. Understand academic, social, behavioral, and emotional development milestones of children. Understand positive discipline in a progressive educational setting.

Minimum Education/Prior Experience/Qualifications Required
The successful applicant will have:
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with a master’s degree preferred, or equivalent years of experience.
• Teaching and/or training experience is essential, with three to five years of experience preferred.
• Experience as a supervisor and skill as an evaluator of others’ performance will also be preferred.
• Candidates should have demonstrated leadership ability with adults, both individually and in groups.
• Demonstrated commitment, in a school or university setting, to diversity and inclusion goals.
• Demonstrated personal commitment to professional growth and to receiving and acting on constructive feedback.

In addition, the selected candidate will be student-centered, well-organized, and able to work well under pressure with multiple and changing priorities. The candidate will also have excellent interpersonal and written communication, organization, ethical and effective decision making, administrative skills, self-motivated and ability to work independently, long term planning and visioning, and supervision experience.

Work Environment
This position includes working with diverse groups of students, staff, guests and customers such as non-traditionally aged; gender diverse; religiously diverse; international; persons with disabilities; gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender; persons of color; and socio-economic status.

The Campus
High Meadows School sits on 42 wooded acres in Roswell. The school is housed in several buildings spread across the two meadows on the property. We have an active barnyard on campus, serving as the home for horses, sheep, bunnies, and chickens. Faculty and staff must be comfortable traveling between buildings in all types of weather, participating in outdoor activities on the meadows and in the forest, and intermingling with animals.

Physical Requirements
This position requires physical exertion including carrying and transporting materials and hand-outs, flip charts and other audio-visual equipment. This position is subject to environmental conditions, as educational activities occur both inside and outside of the buildings.
