The Walker School is seeking an exceptional Fourth Grade Lead Teacher with a concentration in Social Studies to join our vibrant Lower School community. In This Role, You Will:
Serve as the lead teacher for a fourth grade classroom while providing leadership in social studies instruction
Create engaging, student centered learning experiences that foster critical thinking and curiosity
Design and deliver differentiated instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners
Build strong partnerships with students, families, and colleagues
Collaborate with grade level and specialty teachers to create an integrated learning experience
Foster a classroom culture grounded in respect, belonging, and joyful learning
Utilize technology in meaningful and age appropriate ways
Support the whole child through relationship building and responsive teaching practices
Participate fully in the life of the school community through duties, events, and professional learning opportunities

Our Ideal Candidate:
Holds a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred
Has elementary teaching experience, particularly in social studies instruction
Demonstrates knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning
Has experience with or a willingness to learn Orton Gillingham and Responsive Classroom approaches
Brings creativity, flexibility, and enthusiasm to the classroom
Possesses outstanding communication and collaboration skills
Embraces lifelong learning and professional growth
Is eager to contribute beyond the classroom through coaching, club sponsorship, performing arts, or other extracurricular programs
