Description:

The High School Art Teacher will design and deliver engaging, adaptive art lessons for students with diverse learning needs. They will foster creativity, confidence, and emotional growth through drawing, painting, sculpture, and other media, while supporting each student’s unique abilities and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and teach age- and ability-appropriate art lessons for high school students with special educational needs.
Adapt materials and techniques to suit a range of physical, cognitive, and sensory abilities.
Encourage self-expression, fine motor skills, and emotional well-being through visual arts.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and organized classroom environment.
Exhibit student artwork and celebrate achievements throughout the school year.

The applicant will:

possess a Bachelor's degree

demonstrate passion for working with special needs children

The applicant’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and experiences that facilitate active and meaningful learning

Collaborate with grade level partners to establish continuity with curriculum and grade level experiences

Provide regular feedback (written and verbal) to students and parents

Partner and communicate proactively and effectively with parents in formal and informal conferences, written reports, emails, and phone communications

Perform other duties as assigned

Compensation is competitive and is commensurate with experience.

Other Benefits: Small class sizes (6-10 students), 401K with match up to 10%, Friday workday ends at 2:30pm
