Job Summary:
The Lead Instructional Coach supports a team of Rollins coaches and leads coaching across the continuum. This role ensures the organization’s instructional and coaching practices are implemented with fidelity and consistency across sites and classrooms. The Lead Instructional Coach strengthens coaching quality by modeling effective coaching practices, providing targeted feedback, and building team capacity in language-rich instruction and adult learning.
Essential Job Duties:
In partnership with the Director of Coaching, the Lead Instructional Coach supports implementation planning, coaches new team members through onboarding, and builds strong relationships with school and partner teams to support effective collaboration. This role uses multiple data sources to guide coaching priorities, support goal setting, and adjust coaching supports based on evidence of educator practice and child outcomes.
The Lead Instructional Coach also leads team meetings and professional learning communities and leverages tools such as Cox Campus and video coaching to support ongoing learning and coherence across the team. A strong focus on sustainability is maintained by building partner capacity and supporting systems that promote continued implementation.
Responsibilities of the Lead Instructional Coach – Instructional Coaching and Implementation:

• Design and facilitate professional learning opportunities, both for internal team and external partners.
• Lead team professional learning communities (PLCs) and reflective practice meetings.
• Support onboarding by orienting new coaching team members to tools, expectations, and shared practices.
• Ensure coaching across teams follows an intentional, reflective coaching cycle, including goal setting, implementation, reflection, and adjustment over time.
• Support coaches in using a gradual release approach to build facilitators’ independence over time.
• Ensure professional learning experiences include clear purpose, practice opportunities, and reflection for transfer.
• Support the team in using multiple data sources to prioritize needs and determine coaching focus.
• Facilitate collaborative problem-solving by supporting the coaching team in identifying barriers and planning responsive support virtually or in-person visits.
• Cultivate a culture of coaching and modeling strong relationship-building and coaching practices with the internal Rollins team.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Maintain clear relationship-building systems that support coordination, follow-through, and shared understanding across the coaching team.
• Coordinate meetings with facilitators to share updates and guide strategy implementation.
• Strengthen cross-team alignment through consistent use of shared language, expectations, and coaching tools.
• Collaborate with the Director of Coaching to guide implementation, elevate patterns and needs from the field, and align leadership decisions to partner goals.
• Document and communicate progress to support transparency, continuity, and decision-making.

Professional Development Facilitation:

• Facilitate and design coaching professional development for facilitators and partners, ensuring best practices for adult learning theory are present.
• Promote research and evidence-based practices for facilitators.
• Analyze and compare existing coaching resources with best practices.
• Develop redelivery content, engagement activities, and organize coaching materials for professional development.

Research/Professional Development:

• Stay current on the latest research and best practices related to structured literacy, early childhood education, curriculum and instruction, professional learning, and instructional coaching
• Engage in ongoing professional development to strengthen coaching practice and content expertise

Qualifications:

● Master’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education, Speech Pathology, Language and Literacy, Adult Learning, or related field
● 10+ years of prior work-related experience in coaching
● Experience with implementing data-driven instruction methods
● Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent public speaking skills
● Action-oriented, collaborative, flexible, and innovative approach to coaching and mentoring of child outcomes
● Proven leadership skills and the ability to understand the comprehensive language and literacy issues of young children in a variety of settings
Preferred

● School-based teacher training and coaching experience desired
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The Rollins Center is a hybrid workplace, with both in-person and site-based work, as well as remote work. The Facilitator will work at the Rollins Center at the Atlanta Speech School, as well as have the opportunity to work remotely from home when possible. Some travel can be expected to national conferences.

• Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach. Generally, works in an office environment but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full-time position, offering a generous benefit package including personal and sick days,
health/dental/life/vision, and long-term disability insurance. The Speech School subsidizes

Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience.
