Description:
Athens Academy seeks a full-time, dynamic, creative, and versatile Upper School Humanities teacher beginning in August 2027. Essential characteristics include love of emerging adults, energy, optimism, flexibility, the ability to work with others, a good sense of humor, and a firm foundation in humanities education. Teaching assignments will include AP European History, as well as other history courses. We are looking for someone who is excited to join our community and who enjoys and understands adolescent learners. Teachers at Athens Academy convey a love of learning and instill in our students a curiosity about our world and the desire to apply what they learn to other disciplines and the world around them. Athens Academy’s faculty are also engaged with students beyond the classroom, including coaching and other extracurricular activities.
Other Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in political science, history, or a related education field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
At least three years of teaching experience in upper-level history courses required.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
