Supervisor: Head of Upper School

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Position Status: Salaried, Exempt, Full-time, 10-month

Work Hours: Typical hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some weekend and evening work may be required.

Anticipated Start Date: August 1, 2025

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for a successful candidate.

B.A. in Physics or related field. Professional or practical experience in a scientific field and advanced degree preferred
Two or more years teaching Physics and/or Engineering preferred
Ability to teaching other Science classes--including Chemistry, Biology and Environmental Science--or Math classes preferred
Demonstrated success with or willingness to explore curriculum incorporating CAD, 3D printers, laser cutters, and other innovative tools

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaches three (3) sections of Physics classes with labs
Co-teaches a 3-week immersive, interdisciplinary class during Jan Term
Works directly with other Upper School Science teachers as part of Science PLC
Advises students as part of the Upper School Advisory Program
Contributes to the larger school community through sponsoring extracurricular programs, clubs and/or coaching sports
Perform other duties as assigned
