Description:

The Lovett School, an independent K-12 day school in Atlanta, GA, seeks a Spanish teacher to begin in August 2024. Interested applicants should be able to teach Spanish I and II and an introduction to World Languages course in a collaborative working environment at the Middle School level. Applicants should also plan to serve as an advisor to students and perform supervisory and other professional duties as assigned.

Reports to: Middle School Division Head

Primary Responsibilities:
Develops curriculum materials, including course outlines, syllabi, and other instructional materials
Carries out all responsibilities associated with teaching the assigned classes
Conducts after-school tutorials as scheduled 
Participates in department, faculty, team, and grade-level meetings as called
Ensures that students adhere to The Lovett School behavioral guidelines
Is involved in the life of the school outside of the classroom
Fulfills additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements:
Candidates should have experience teaching middle school Spanish and should understand the unique needs of a student that age
The drive, organization, and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the school community beyond the classroom 
Excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate effective communication with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors
Employment of a variety of techniques, including the meaningful use of technology and familiarity with comprehensible input, to engage students and further their critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity
A strong desire to work in a collaborative learning community, employing a growth mindset
Desire and ability to develop an atmosphere of trust and knowledge of students as individuals
Demonstrated flexibility and responsiveness to a variety of learning styles and across a range of abilities
Ethical behavior, professionalism, and respect for diversity
Regular and reliable attendance
